Grendon Newsletter
School Closure: Update #8 Friday 24th April 2020

  Hello Visitor,

Key Worker Childcare Requirements

The latest Key Worker Childcare Requirement form is available to download here.

Please return any completed forms to school at  no later than 5pm tomorrow (Saturday 25th April).

This will help us to plan staff rotas and ensure that only minimal numbers of staff attend.

Home Learning Content

The Learning Packs on the school website continue to be accessed literally thousands of times and teachers have been delighted to received emails and photos of the things that your children have been up to.

To supplement the materials already on the school website, your child's teachers have created a range of activities linked to their current curriculum theme. The activities are presented on a Skills Grid which covers a range of subject areas, with associated resources also available as hyperlinks or downloads. The activities have been cross referenced to the curriculum skills that we use in school. The Skills Grids represent 2 weeks worth of work and the next grid will be available a week today on Friday 1st May.

BBC Bitesize Daily Lessons are available here

If you would like to access additional online resources (some of which can be printed in the form of booklets), you can make use a website called Twinkl (terrible name, great resources)

Twinkl are offering free resources for parents for a month and you can sign up by loggin onto www.twinkl.co.uk/offer and entering CVDTWINKLHELPS as the offer code. You do not need to inout any card/payment details to begin the month's free subscription and so you won't be stung for any charges once the period ends. There are a huge range of resouces organised by year group/phase, including workbooklets on a range of subjects and topics that you can download and print. A good place to start is to log in, choose the Parent tab, then Home Learning and then School Closure Activity Packs.

Safeguarding

Included on the school website and via hyperlink on this newsletter are two additional safeguarding documents. The first is NHS advice on Covid-19 which I am sure you are familiar with but there is no harm in repeating the guidance. The second is a leaflet from Northamptonshire Safeguarding Children Partnership (NSCP) which contains links to agencies and organisations that can support children who may be struggling with their mental health and emotional well-being.

The school continues to take its responsibility towards safeguarding very seriously and continues to follow its established school procedures which are rooted in statutory guidance. Consistent with this advice, if you become aware of any safeguarding concerns then please use the guidance on the safeguarding section of the school's website which can be found here

Do not hesitate to contact either of the school's Designated Safeguarding Leads via the emails below if you have any concerns.
