  Hello Visitor,

Bah Humbug, Ice Skating, Nativity and Carol Service...

In this very busy term, please refer to the calendar on the school website www.grendonprimary.net for information about key school events.

Once ticket orders for Bah Humbug have been returned to school, the total amount owing will be allocated to ParentPay, so please allow a few days for this to happen. Letters have already been sent out with details of arrangements and timings for the show - please speak to your child's class teachers if you have any questions. School will confirm arrangements closer to the time.

Please email me at  if you would like us to reserve seats for ticketholders with mobility issues. Last year, we managed to seat those with mobility issues alongside their whole family group and hope to do the same this year.

Even if you have paid for the ice skating trip, please do also return the permission slip to school with the all important shoe size so that we can get your child onto the ice quickly and in a comfy pair of skates.

For Reception's Nativity, please just turn up on the day (Monday 17th December at 4pm) in time to get a seat!

The Carol Service takes place on Wednesday 19th December at 1.30pm and this is just a reminder to say that everyone is welcome to join us. Following the service, parents are more than welcome to take their child home (pick up from school) to begin the Christmas break slightly early although school will remain open until 3.30pm as normal.

Pupil Profiles

Please return Pupil Profiles to school on Monday 26th November. Teachers are busy updating your child's assessment information and so please help us to ensure that we are able to send home your child's Pupil Profile by the end of term. Many thanks in anticipation of your support with this.

Parent Governor

Following the conclusion of the parent governor election process, I can confirm that Emma Aylesbury received the most votes from the parent body and has accepted her role as a parent governor.

Many thanks to Emma and also to James, Clare, Peter and Lisa for putting themselves forward for the parent governor role, the school is very grateful for your support.

Shoebox Collection

Thank you for responding so positively to our shoebox appeal. Since the letter was sent out, the school was made aware of considerable negative media coverage around Operation Christmas Child and the decision was made to switch our efforts to supporting the Rotary Shoebox Scheme. I spoke to the children about this in Thursday's assembly and I explained to the children in Achievers' Assembly this morning that the shoeboxes will, at the end of next week, begin their journey abroad and will be received by a child who is far less fortunate than themselves and who may have never received a Christmas gift before. So, despite the last minute change, the sentiment and aim of the appeal, to provide a gift to a less fortunate child, remains unchanged.
