Hello Visitor, Updated Covid Guidance From 1st April 2022The DfE has today issued updated guidance to schools. The school will update/withdraw its Parent Information and risk assessment as necessary in due course but I thought it would be helpful to share the new advice (DfE excerpts in italics) before we head into the Easter break. The population now has much stronger protection against COVID-19 than at any other point in the pandemic. This means we can begin to manage the virus like other respiratory infections, thanks to the success of the vaccination programme and access to antivirals, alongside natural immunity and increased scientific and public understanding about how to manage risk.
EasterEaster ServiceA reminder that the school's Easter Service in church is on Wednesday 20th April at 1.30pm. All are welcome to join us for this event. FOGS Easter Egg Tombola & Scavenger HuntMany thanks for your very kind donations for the FOGS Easter Egg Tombola. The new arrangements for the FOGS Tombola and Scavenger Hunt will be shared by FOGS in due course. There will be a final push for donations at the start of next half term! Bikeability
Following the high take-up of the Year 3/4 training, the school is planning to expand it's Bikeability offer in the new academic year. Provisional dates are being agreed for Year 6 pupils (currently Year 5) to access Level 2 training in September. Pupil ProfilesPupil Profiles will be sent home tomorrow and will contain updated information about your child's achievements in school. I have been very impressed with pupils' positive attitudes towards school; the assessment scores and teacher comments reflect this extremely well. Please take time over the Easter break to sit down with your child to go through their academic successes, areas of development, Pupil Mentoring outcomes and pupil/teacher comments - there is much to celebrate! Year 4 ResidentialThe response to the Year 4 residential has been excellent - thank you for all of your consent forms and deposit payments. Monday 4th April is the deadline for confirming your child's place on the trip. Year 2 ResidentialPreparations are being made for Year 2s overnight residential which will take place towards the end of the academic year. As soon as I have more information, I will share it with you. Important DatesPlease follow the link here for next academic year's term dates. You can find all of the important upcoming dates on the school calendar - if relevant to your child, please do pay particular attention to the dates for the Year 1 Phonics Screening Check and the Year 2 & Year 6 assessments as children must be in school at these times. Year 4 will also complete a Multiplication Tables Check - this short test will take place within a 3 week window in June. We will advise you of this closer to the time. We will see you all tomorrow for our final day of term before the Easter holidays, returning to school on Tuesday 19th April. I wish you all a restful and happy break. |
