Year 6 Residential Letter #3

Year 6 Perranporth Residential: 27th June—1st July 2022               

Many thanks for completing the online consent form and making the initial deposit payment for the trip. Final bookings have now been made and we are all set for another fantastic summer residential! I can confirm that the children will be enjoying 2x 2 hour surf lessons with Perranporth Surf School, a practical workshop with educators at the Eden Project, an evening performance of the Phillip Pullman story 'The Firework Maker's Daughter' at the spectacular Minack Theatre, as well as plenty of beach games and other activities.

As numbers attending are slightly down this year, I do have to notify you of a small price increase for the trip. The original cost of the trip was based on all of our current Year 6s attending. Whilst there are individual costs for activities like the Minack Theatre and surf tuition, other costs associated witht the trip, such as minibus hire and fuel, are divided between all pupils attending. With slightly reduced numbers, this means that the cost of the trip has increased from its original price of £330 to a new price of £350. There will be no further price increases beyond this point. 

The school has secured preferential rates on several aspects of the trip, including YHA accommodation and surf tuition and, as a self-organised trip, there are no agency fees and so the trip continues to represent excellent value for money.
