  Hello Visitor,

Rounders Runners Up!

In a hard fought contest, Grendon's rounders team emerged as runners up, narrowly losing out to Denton in a close run final. Plenty of solid batting, great fielding and smiles all round. Well done team!

Goodbye SATS, bring on Cornwall!

Our Year 6 cohort conducted themselves brilliantly throughout the preparation for last week's SATS and during the test week itself. The children sat their final exam last Thursday morning which means that the children can turn their focus away from exams and to their well deserved residential to Perranporth which takes place in just a few weeks.

Many thanks to all of those who made it to this week's information meeting. If you were unable to attend, the slides from the presentation can be found here. In the meantime, please ask any questions and keep your fingers crossed for some great Cornwall weather.

e-Safety Parent Session

Our online survey has shown that the majority of responses were for the e-safety session to be held at 2.30pm on Wednesday 5th June. The session will be run by Simon Aston, NCC's Internet Safety Officer, and will run for approximately an hour in the school hall. We look forward to seeing as many of you there as possible.

School Needs Your Help!

The Big Summer Clean-Up - Sat 29th & Sun 30th June 2019

The school's parent body is a huge and highly valued resource for the school in so many different ways, from supporting the children's education to raising funds and givng up time for the benefit of the school. This high level of support helps us to thrive as a community and we are incredibly grateful for this.

At a time when school funding is stretched like never before, we are sending out a plea for your support. The school has recently carried out an audit of the outdoor spaces on our school site and staff and governors have been busy compiling a list of jobs that must be undertaken to generally improve the school grounds.

Although the list has yet to be finalised, jobs that have been identified include painting, mending, cleaning, gardening and weeding. The school is hoping that from within our parent body, we can gather together the materials and enough elbow grease to get the work done. The genral idea is that, from the final jobs' list, volunteers will choose a task and bring the materials, tools and man (or woman) power to tackle it. We hope to provide a barbecue and refreshments through the weekend for our volunteers.

More details will be provided in due course but the purpose of mentioning it now is to flag up the date to you in plenty of time so that we can maximise the number of people who might be able to help. It is a great opportunity to get involved in supporting the school.

Watch this space!
