Hello Visitor,Reception's Nativity & Christmas Theme DayThe tone for the Nativity performance was set by one of the Reception children who asked me earlier in the day 'Mr Wayland, do you know what time it is?...It's SHOWTIME!'. The children sang and danced beautifully, acted brilliantly and spoke every line confidently. Even though the wet and windy weather meant that we had to relocate Bethlehem inside, the children were confident and all looked so happy to be performing for their families and friends. Thank you to everyone who supported this great event and special thanks, of course, to Mrs Dyson, Mrs Pinnock-Attfield and Mrs Barratt. Miss Hunting has been working hard to prepare the whole school singing for our Carol Service and you can all come and listen to more wonderful singing on this event on Thursday 19th December at 1.30pm. Winter Illnesses! As we approach the end of the autumn term, absence rates tend to increase and this is just a reminder to please support the school in following NHS guidance for common illnesses. We do this to avoid the unecessary spread of illness around the school and homes. NHS guidance on diarrhoea and vomiting Caterlink Meal BookingsVanessa, our wonderful cook, is busy organising the special Christmas meal that is on the last day of term. All bookings for this meal (and the rest of the term) must be made by Monday 9th December. I've got mine booked so don't delay! Panto Trip RemindersReception and Key Stage 1 On Wednesday 11th December, Reception and Key Stage 1 are off to the Royal and Derngate to see Cinderella. The coach will be leaving school at 9.15am and we would like children to arrive at their classroom at 8.40am so that we can get away on time. Children should wear school uniform and bring a coat and water bottle. We anticipate arriving back in school at lunchtime and so hot meals can be booked as normal. Key Stage 2 On Thursday 12th December, Key Stage 2 are going to see the matinee performance of Peter Pan at Milton Keynes Theatre. Children should come to school at normal time, wearing school uniform. We will return to school at approximately 4.30pm but will update arrival time via text if this time changes. As we will be leaving mid-morning, all children will need to bring a packed lunch on this day so please do not book a hot meal. |
