Hello Visitor,

Well Done Year 6!

In the build-up to and throughout last week, our Year 6 cohort showed incredible teamwork and determination as they tackled SATs. We are immensely proud of the pupils - they can now look forward to their forthcoming residential to Perranporth in just a few weeks time.

Last year's cohort below certainly made the most of their trip to Cornwall.

Gymnastics Success

Pupils from the school's extra-curricular gymnastics club were in action last weekend in the 2024 GLK Gymnastics Competition. Hundreds of children from schools across the county took part and gymnasts competed individually in the vault, floor and trampette, building up points for their team.

The team consisting of Orlaith, Lilian, Jiya, Niamh and Serafina emerged as overall champions in the morning session. In the afternoon, this success was repeated by Tia, Frankie, Ciara and Violet both teams walked away with the amazing winners' trophies.

Stunning individual performances saw Orlaith and Violet crowned the all-around champions.

Congratulations to all of the pupils from Grendon CE Primary who took part.

'Bake Sale'

Well done to the group of Pine Class boys who organised a 'Bake Sale' in school which took place on Friday. The boys chose to raise money for the school and their efforts are greatly appreciated. They were very clear from the start what they wanted to do and it's a wonderful example of children being left to use their own initiative. The boys saw me after the sale and have requested that the profits go specifically towards a new projector as they say the old one 'is a bit old and blurry and the picture has started turning yellow!' That sounds like a good plan to me. The boys can feel very proud of doing something so positive under their own steam - thank you! A grand total of £35.50 was raised.

Important Dates

The calendar on the school website has been updated with dates for this half term, including residentials, Leavers' Assembly, FOGS events and the end of term family picnic!

I am also very happy to share the news that this year's whole school summer show will take place at Wollaston School on the evening of Wednesday 17th July.

Sports Day is still to be confirmed.

Residential Information Meetings

Information meetings for the Year 4 and Year 6 residentials take place this week. It is an opportunity for parents to find out more about the itinerary and ask any questions. Children are welcome to attend but it is not essential as we will be talking to the children about the trip separately.

Year 4 Residential Meeting - Tuesday 21st May at 3.45pm in Pine Class

Year 6 Residential Meeting - Wednesday 22nd May at 3.45pm in Pine Class
