Hello Visitor,
Open AfternoonFebruary half-term marks the mid-point of the school year and it is also the time where one Global Curriculum theme ends and another begins. To celebrate the learning that has taken place over the course of the academic year (so far), the school would like to invite you to our Open Afternoon from 1.30pm on Wednesday 14th February. There will be no requirement to book in advance if you would like to come - more details to follow. Library RefurbishmentOur school library is having a full refurbishment! This is an exciting project and one that will certainly enhance the provision for our pupils. FOGS have agreed to fully fund the library refurbishment and it is testimony to the hard work of the FOGS team and their fundraising efforts that they are in a position to put so much support behind this project. You will remember that, amongst other things, FOGS made a huge financial contribution to share the cost of the playground climbing equipment with school and so the positive impact of their work is very significant. ______________________________________________________ The total cost of the library refurbishment is approximately £4000. FOGS will make an initial contribution of £2000 from existing funds and have committed to raise the remaining £2000 over the coming months*. To help them reach this target, FOGS will be organising various fundraising events and they need your support to achieve their goal. You will no doubt hear from FOGS in the very near future about their plans! *the project will not be delayed whilst FOGS raise the remaining funds
Sporting Successes! There are some amazing sporting successes for us to celebrate this week. In the Development Gymnastics Competitions, our Year 3/4 and Year 5/6 teams performed brilliantly. Year 3/4 claimed 2nd place overall and Year 5/6 walked away as winners of their competition! With these final placings, both teams now qualify for the School Games Gymnastics County Finals. This is a wonderful outcome, especially for a small school and our thanks must go to Jo and Jess at GLK Gymnastics for their expert tuition in school and for supporting the children on the day of the competition. Meanwhile, Violet's Cross Country success continues. At the recent County Finals, she ran an incredibly quick race and has now qualified for the Anglian Schools Cross Country Champioships, representing Northamptonshire. A remarkable achievement from a very talented runner. Parent Governor Election - ReminderA reminder that nominations for the Parent Governor Election must be submitted by Friday 2nd February. Nomination FormAll prospective candidates should use the nomination form found here. The form is a word document so that candidates can type into the table and this from should be completed and emailed to by the date indicated in the timetable above.
