  Hello Visitor,

Kidz Zone Club - IMPORTANT INFORMATION

The school has received notification from Kidz Zone Club that they will not be able to continue to operate at Grendon beyond the end of this term. Uptake for places at Kidz Zone is low and, despite Kidz Zone's best efforts, it is simply not proving to be financially viable for them. Although only a small proportion of families use this provision, I am aware that for those who do use it, it is a very important service which is why the school will do its very best to arrange a suitable alternative to begin on our return to school in January.

Whilst the school tries to source a new provider, please do let us know if you are aware of any organisations who might have capacity to offer childcare from our school setting or any local childcare providers who might be able to support.

I will provide updates on this over the course of the term.

Christmas Trips

I am delighted to share details of our Christmas trips. Letters for both trips will be sent home either today or the beginning of next week.

Key Stage 2

Children in Key Stage 2 will be heading off for an ice-skating session at Willen Lake on Friday 15th December. The school will enjoy the sole use of their ice rink and the push-along penguins will be available for our session!

Letters will be sent home today. In the meantime, you can read more about the ice-skating venue here.

EYFS and KS1

Early Years and Key Stage 1 are off to the Royal and Derngate Theatre on Thursday 14th December to watch a performance of Stick Man! The story is familiar to most children and it will be great to see it on the stage.

School Photos

Individual and school aged sibling photos (including Nursery) will take place on the morning of Monday 27th November. If you have a child who attends Nursery but is not normally in school on Monday morning, please let me know if you would like them to come in just for the photos as we will be able to accommodate this.

School Term Dates

As a result of an error in NNC's published school term dates, the school's Autumn Term will end a day earlier than previously advertised. Schools are required to open for 190 days in each academic year and because 2024 is a leap year, the extra day included on the term dates takes schools over this limit.

The last day of term will now be Tuesday 19th December and the school's carol service at St Mary's will be on this day at the slightly later time of 2pm. I hope that you can still join us for this very popular school event - apologies for any inconvenience caused.

The amended term dates can be found here

Remembrance Day

The school will once again be collecting for the Poppy Appeal. Items will be on sale in school each day next week. Zip-pulls and poppy reflectors are 50p each and snap-bands and wristbands are £1 each. Voluntary donations for the traditional paper poppies can also be made.
