Hello Visitor, The school has enjoyed a wonderful Jubilee themed day! From making banners and flags to bunting and biscuits, the children engaged in a range of activities and then enjoyed a picnic lunch together in the sunshine. This afternoon, EYFS performed a royal parade for the rest of the school, showing off their portraits and crowns before Theo took his place on the throne as King! The whole school sang Jubliee songs and contributed to making a huge Union Jack flag. I just walked past EYFS and they were playing 'pass the peacock' - what a great day! Commemorative bookCourtesy of the Department for Education, each family will today receive a copy of Queen Elizabeth: A Platinum Jubilee Celebration. If you have more than one child, the youngest sibling will have the book in their bag! Tree Planting
Mr Read (Mrs Read's husband), who knows a thing or two about trees, was kind enough to source, supply and plant a tree for our school - an ornamental flowering crab tree. Thank you Mr Read for this wonderful gesture. Summer Term DatesAll of these dates and more are on the school website calendar.
School Travel Awards WINNER! I was lucky enough to attend the national School Travel Awards in London this week. The school was chosen as a finalist in the 'My Best School Trip' category for its 2021 Year 6 residential to Perranporth. I am delighted to share with you that the school was crowned the winner and receives £1500 in prize money which can be used on future outdoor learning activities. BikeabilityThe school is offering L2 Bikeability training for next year's Year 6 (current Y5) in the new academic year, spread over 4 consecutive days in the week beginning 26th September. As with the recent L1 training, places are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. The training is heavily subsidised and so the children's contribution is just £10. You can find all of the relevant information on the consent form. Please complete the consent form which you can find here. Alternatively, if you email me at with the relevant information that it asks for on the consent form, that is fine.
