  Hello Visitor,

Covid Updates

Whilst there are likely to be further announcements in the coming days and weeks, I thought it was important to communicate the school's response to the updated government guidance at the earliest opportunity.

An updated Parent Information document to reflect the changes is available on the school website and by clicking here.

Two new publications have been made available following the announcement of the government's 'Living with Covid-19' plan. These documents are available via the links below and on the Parent Information document.

Covid-19 response: living with Covid-19

DfE: Asymptomatic testing in educational settings from 21 February 22 - what, why and when

What are the changes to asymptomatic lateral flow testing?

Households and school staff are no longer encouraged to engage in twice-weekly asymptomatic lateral flow testing, effective immediately. Children and fully-vaccinated adults are also no longer required to take daily lateral flow tests if they are a close contact of someone who has tested positive.

What changes are there in the self-isolation guidance?

Although the government will, from 24th February, remove the legal requirement to self-isolate following a positive result, it is the school's expectation that staff and pupils will continue to follow the DfE advice on self-isolation as detailed in the Parent Information document. This includes the requirement for an individual displaying Covid symptoms to take a PCR test.

What happens on 1st April?

From the 1st April, there will no longer be universal access to free lateral flow and free PCR tests. It is not clear whether the associated guidance will change at this point but, if it does, I will communicate the school's response in a timely way.
