‍E-Newsletter 274: Monday 19th October 2026

‍Dear Visitor ‍

Sporting Success

At a typically wet and windy cross-country course at Croyland Park, our pupils raced brilliantly to finish 2nd overall in the Small Schools Competition. The format of awarding points based on finish position meant that all of our runners contributed to the overall success and we are very proud of them all.

Well done to our Year 5/6 footballers who participated in a competition last week at Redwell Leisure Centre. No silverware to bring home on this occasion but a fantastic effort from all of the children nonetheless.

‍Secondary School Applications

The deadline for current Year 6 to apply for a secondary school place is 31st October 2026. For information about the process, including a link to the application site, please read the letter here.

‍Harvest Service

Please join us (Reception to Year 6) in St Mary's Church on Thursday at 1.30pm for our Harvest Service.

‍

Flu Immunisations

The NHS school-aged immunisation service will be visiting school on Friday 13th November to administer the flu immunisation for consenting pupils from Reception to Year 6. Parents will be contacted directly by the NHS around 3 weeks before their visit with details of the vaccination programme and how to consent.

‍Reading Information Meeting

Mrs Dyson and Mrs Carter will be leading a Reading Information Meeting for parents of children in EYFS and Year 1 (although Year 2 parents can attend if they wish!). Please join us on Wednesday 4th November at 4pm in Oak Class.

‍Premier Education

Premier Education has reviewed their provision at school and has made 2 changes to its after school childcare provision which come into effect after half term (from Monday 2nd November):

  • Monday to Thursday sessions will continue but there will no longer be childcare provision on Fridays
  • all sessions will now finish at 5.30pm (instead of 6pm)

Premier Education has made the changes in response to very low uptake on Fridays and also in the 5.30-6.00pm slot and in an effort to support the financial sustainability of their provision. Apologies to the small number of families who I know will be impacted by these changes. Premier Education's booking system has been updated to reflect the changes.

‍Reception's Nativity

This year's Nativity, performed by our current Reception cohort, will take place on Thursday 3rd December at 4pm. Reception families are all very welcome to attend.
