‍Welcome Back!

It has been a wonderful start to the new school year. Our Reception cohort has settled quickly, all children have returned to exciting new global curriculum themes and our Nursery children start later on this week. Staff worked hard over the summer break to plan for the academic year, including creating more fantastic learning environments to immerse pupils in learning.

Our 'ex' Year 6 cohort completed their primary experience with a wonderful celebration at the end of last term and they now embark on their secondary journeys - the whole school wishes them the best of luck. 

SATS Success!

The departing Year 6 cohort also achieved great success in their summer term exams with results that greatly exceeded national and local data in all areas. An amazing achievement for a wonderful group of children.

The schedule for this week's Premier Education after school childcare is below. In addition, their extra-curricular clubs this half term are Multisports (Monday 8-8.45am) and Archery (Wednesday 8-8.45am).

Extra-Curricular Clubs

GLK will be running their football club on Tuesday after-school. If you would like to book a place, use the link here 

GLK gymnastics club will continue on Tuesday mornings at 8am. Although the club remains full, you can add your child to the waiting list by emailing GLK at glkcoaching@hotmail.co.uk

YogaClub will continue on Thursday mornings at 8am. For more information, contact Sarah at thelittleyogacompanyinfo@gmail.com 

Atomic Science is making a return later this term. A special taster assembly will take place on Monday 14th September with full details to follow.

‍Allergy & Anaphylaxis Awareness - Benedict's Law

Benedict's Law, which you can read about here, is a set of national protections designed to improve allergy safety in schools. The guidance, which is mandatory in schools from the start of this academic year, includes the requirement for:

• all staff to be trained in allergy and anaphylaxis awareness
• individual risk assessments to be in place for all children with serious allergies
• schools to create an Allergy & Anaphylaxis Policy
• schools to have spare Adrenaline Auto-Injectors (AAIs) 

All children in Key Stage 1 and 2 had a school assembly on allergy awareness last week and EYFS will cover this in the coming weeks. There are several children in our school with a range of serious allergies and it would be extremely helpful if you could reinforce key messages from the assembly - one being for regular handwashing (particuarly before and after eating and after playing outside) and also to not share food with other children.

Caterlink are updating their allergy records and have requested that parents of children with allergies complete the online form (link below). Even if your child's allergies are already known to Caterlink, they still require you to complete the online form. 

Caterlink Allergy Information
