Dear Visitor

‍Open Afternoon - Wednesday 12th February at 1.30pm

We are looking forward to seeing you next Wednesday for our Open Afternoon to mark the end of our Global Curriculum themes. For those of you new to our Open Afternoons, please head to your child's class from 1.30pm where children will be in 'expert teams' sharing work from across the curriculum. I would also encourage you to visit the other classes in school which you are more than welcome to do. The afternoon is very informal and relaxed. School will be open as normal until 3.30pm but children can be collected from 3.00pm.

Music is always an important part of our Global Curriculum and each class will be performing a song in the school hall at a set time in the afternoon. As the school will be very busy, I would politely request that you only attend the music performance if your child is in that class. Performance times in the hall will be as follows:

Cedar

Dragons' Den Business Enterprises

Willow Class pupils have been working very hard on their World War 2 themed business enterprises. This time, the children have created websites to sell their delicious treats, with details of their products, ingredients, recipes and a hyperlink to the ParentPay website for pre-ordering. Any remaining treats will be sold at Open Afternoon but, to avoid disappointment, log onto the websites below and place your orders ready for pick-up at Open Afternoon from Willow Class!

EYFS Explorer Day!

Early Years enjoyed a wonderful explorer day this week, working in the great outdoors and with their day culminating in toasting marshnallows around a fire.

Peterborough Diocese - Y‍ear Of Prayer

Bishop Debbie, our Diocesan Bishop, has designated 2025 as a year of prayer across the Diocese. All of the church schools within the Diocese have been asked to contribute a school prayer which will be shared and used across the Diocese as part of Collective Worship.

Competition Time

This is open to all pupils in school and the task is to write a school prayer for us here at Grendon. The prayer might refer to our school values (respect, kindness, honesty, appeciation, courage and forgiveness), the global curriculum and anything else that makes our school special. It must also be suitable for other schools to use as part of their own collective worship.

The prayer can be of any length and presented in any format. You can add illustrations to your entry if you wish but this is not essential. There is a School Prayer template below that you can use to help.

Please send in your school prayers to the school office by Friday 28th February. Don't forget to add your name.

FOGS Updates

Many thanks for FOGS, Heidi Boutique and all of the people who supported last weekend's sale. It was a very successful event and I am delighted to share that £580 was raised for school. This is an incredible total!

A message from FOGS:

FOGS will be running a pre-loved fancy dress sale on Friday 28th February at 3.30-4.00pm for World Book Day which takes place on 6th March. If you have outgrown children's fancy dress costumes to donate, we would really appreciate it if you could send these into school prior to our sale. All        donations will be greatly appreciated. All money raised will go to the school.
