  Hello Visitor,

DfE Guidance For September

The DfE yesterday released 'Guidance for full opening - schools'. I have read the document cover to cover as have other members of staff and the school will now prepare it's response to this updated advice. Without wishing to jump the gun and pre-empt the final detail of our new risk assessments for September, it is safe to say that all of our pupils will be able to return to school at the start of the academic year and at the same time.

It is clear from the guidance that control measures to mitigate the risk of transmission of Covid-19 are easing but have not gone away and I am also aware that welcoming back all of our pupils presents a new set of challenges which the school will confidently address in plenty of time for the new school year.

I cannot wait to see a school full of pupils again!

The school will communicate it's response to yesterday's guidance at the earliest opportunity and share it with you as soon as it can.

Childcare Provision: Get Active

I am delighted to say that the school will host Get Active Childcare throughout the summer holidays. The sessions are very reasonably priced (a full day session equates to just over £2 per hour) and I hope that this provision will alleviate childcare concerns whilst providing fun activities for children in a familiar setting with their friends.

To find out more information about Get Active's summer holiday provision and to register and book your child's place, please follow the link here (even those who have used the provision previously will be asked to register for the summer holiday club)

I am also in discussions with Get Active with a view to their after-school childcare resuming when we all start back in September which I am sure will help many families. Yesterday's DfE guidance allows Get Active to resume their after school provision.

It is the school's expectation that the very well attended early morning supervision in school from 8.30am will resume in September at a cost of 50p per session, although the proposed trial of Get Active's breakfast club provision - originally scheduled to take place during what was to become a period of school closure - is likely to be delayed further given the limitations of physical space in school at that time of the day.

Term Dates 2020-21

Term dates for the 2020-21 academic year can be found on the website and here

Remote Learning

The final Skills Grids were uploaded to the website last Friday - well done to all of the children who have accessed the remote learning activities, attended and contributed to their year group Zoom calls and uploaded and shared the things that they have been doing during school closures.

Although the remote learning pages of the website will not be updated over the summer holidays, the extensive resources and links will remain by popular demand.
