|E-Newsletter Issue 118: Friday 16th March 2018|
Our Easter Service takes place at St Mary's Church on Wednesday 28th March at 1.30pm. FOGS Easter Fair will follow immediately after the service and you are all very welcome to join us for both.
Our Year 3/4 dancers will be heading off to the Deco Theatre tomorrow to participate in the Junior Strictly competition. The children gave us a sneak preview of their dances in Achievers' Assembly this morning and they were fantastic. Good luck tomorrow! We are already very proud of you for all the hard work you have put in.
A reminder that next Friday 23rd March is a Training Day. With Good Friday the following week, that means there are no more school Fridays until after the Easter break!
It was something of a surprise when Miss Hillman peered into the guinea pig cage on Thursday morning and found that Pixie, one of two adult guinea pigs, had not only concealed a pregnancy but had, sometime during Wednesday night, produced 2 beautiful pups (yes, 'pups' - I checked). Even more of a puzzle was the fact that Pixie lives with her friend Ruby which didn't help us to answer the children's questions.
We managed to establish quite quickly that Ruby definitely wasn't in fact Rupert or Roger and so the only possible explanation, aside from immaculate conception, is that Pixie had in fact arrived at school already pregnant, with the 2 month gestation period fitting the timeline.
The photograph below is one of the (not even) 2 day old guinea pigs. We are all quite shocked at how large and well developed the pups are but at least we now have an explanation as to why Pixie got stuck in her tube last week.
