The school still has 2 places available in our current Reception cohort and additional spaces in our Nursery cohort. For more information, please contact us. Many of our applications for places are via word of mouth and so please do share this information within your own networks. You never know who might be interested!
Wraparound Care update
The school approached Grendon PCC with a view to using the Church Room (the building adjoining school) to accommodate wraparound care. This location would be ideal, allowing for a very smooth transition to and from school whilst also having no negative impact on the day to day running of the school. Initial feedback from last week's PCC meeting suggests that they are broadly supportive in principle of leasing the Church Room for this purpose. I understand that the PCC will advise the school on their proposed hire charges which, along with parent consultation information that we already have, will allow the hour/session cost of the provision to be shared with parents. As soon as I have this information, I will obviously let you know straightaway.
Cluster Fun Run
Nearly a third of our pupils are signed up for the Cluster Fun Run on Saturday 30th September. This is a fantastic response, and with similar numbers from the other 4 schools taking part and a beautiful location, this promises to be a brilliant event.
If you are available to support the FOGS team in erecting marquees (the evening before), marshalling the routes, registering runners, selling raffle tickets, giving out goody bags or presenting medals, then please do contact a member of FOGS directly or let us know in the school office. Events like these take an awful lot of people to help them run smoothly and so any support would be very gratefully received.
Final call for outstanding Pupil Profiles - if you have one still lurking at home, please do send it in this week.
This year's school Harvest Service will take place on Friday 29th September at 9.30am in St Mary's Church, Grendon. You are all very welcome to attend this service, with refreshments kindly provided afterwards by the church.
Once again, donations of tinned food can be brought into school on the day of the service and these will go to the church's chosen charity.
On Thursday 28th September, there will be a whole school mufti day, with voluntary donations going to support the school's Social Enterprise in Senegal. A brief update will be provided on Cherif's chicken business in Friday's service!
Last week we had one Values Champion from each of Willow, Pine and Cedar for their brilliant examples of responsibility. Well done to Hayden (Willow), Jasper (Pine) and Eve (Cedar).
FOGS AGM takes place on Tuesday 17th October at 8pm in the school hall. This is a fantastic opportunity to hear about the work of FOGS and the events and activities that have been organised by them to raise considerable funds for the school.
At the meeting, members of FOGS Committee will be elected and, with some existing members stepping down, including Gerry (Chair) and Francesca (Vice Chair), there is an opportunity for new or exisiting members of our parent body to take on new roles. If you are interested in becoming a member of FOGS Committee, please contact the school or a member of FOGS for more information.
In the meantime, I would like to thank Gerry and her team for their fantastic commitment to raising vital funds for the school which have helped to enrich the educational experiences of all the pupils at the school. Thank you very much!
