Thursday was a very exciting day for the village as it saw the Ovo Energy Women's Tour pass through Grendon. The children waved their banners and flags and cheered on the riders as they sped past. The whole procession was quite a spectacle, with what seemed like hundreds of police cars and support cars providing a safe route for over 100 of the best cyclists in the world. You can see a video of the moment the riders went past on the school's Facebook page.
House Team Sports!
Continuing with the sporty theme, the children spent Friday morning in their house teams, participating in a range of fun sporting activities. The weather was very kind to us and the children had a great time, showing great sportsmanship and teamwork.
Collective Worship In Church
Cedar Class Worship Leaders taught us all about forgiveness in this afternoon's service in church. The children had written prayers, created fantastic collages and learnt actions to go with the Lord's Prayer.
Many thanks to Reverend Paula for working with the children in school.
On behalf of FOGS, Popi Sterling will be coming into school to take more fantastic, informal photos of the children which will then be available to purchase. As we are holding out for a sunny day sometime in the next fortnight, it means that we may only be able to provide 24 hours notice of the photo shoot taking place - you will remember that we recently had to abandon a planned shoot due to bad weather. Thanks for your understanding with this but it is the only way to guarantee great, sunny photos!
Perranporth is nearly here...
I am looking forward to seeing our Year 6s bright and early on Monday morning for the start of their Perranporth adventure!
Children - if you remember your case, medicine, hand luggage and packed lunch, you can't go far wrong. The weather is looking pretty good!
